Alexandra Tămaș is a Lecturer and Research Project Manager at Babeș-Bolyai University. Within StructuralMG she leads work on analogue modelling, structural geology and field-based mapping.

Her research spans fold-and-thrust belts, rift basin structural inheritance and the integration of UAV-based photogrammetry with fieldwork and geochronology, with extensive work in the Romanian Carpathians and the Inner Moray Firth Basin of Scotland.

She has co-authored a substantial body of peer-reviewed work on the structural evolution of superimposed rift basins, sand intrusions in hydrocarbon-rich settings, and salt tectonics.
